Workplace
Creating prospects, generating enthusiasm: During the first "Easter holiday action days" at HOCHTIEF, the company offered the children of its Essen-based employees the opportunity to visit their parents' place of work and gain a fascinating insight into engineering. The youngest participants had fun experimenting with the technology and the excavators. The next age group visited a building site and the teenagers were given information about training and professional development opportunities at HOCHTIEF. The holiday visits under the motto “Watch this” are just one element of the HOCHTIEF strategy to promote the work/ family balance.

Committed and competent employees

Continuing corporate success and above-average quality can be guaranteed only with particularly highly committed and enthusiastic employees. We are aware of this and act accordingly.

Our corporate culture and guiding principles apply at all national and international HOCHTIEF locations. Every employee has the same opportunities. By creating a good working environment, we seek to motivate our staff to give their very best. This is essential to enable HOCHTIEF to set itself off from international competition by means of forward-looking ideas and a unique knowledge potential.

We foster our employees in all areas through ongoing professional training and financial incentives.

We also transfer responsibility to them from an early stage, thereby creating challenging scope for decision- making. At the same time HOCHTIEF faces up to its social responsibility to help prepare young people for a successful future in the world of work. For years, the company has steadily increased the the number of vocational training places it offers.

HOCHTIEF also considers it an important task to improve the work/life balance for all its employees. As an attractive employer we play our part in reducing the skills shortage and offer alternatives to the former working hours and workplace arrangements. We will continue our commitment to our employees and undertake further efforts in this field.
